Vernon Man Charged In Tolland County Burglaries

VERNON, Conn. (AP) _ State police say they’ve charged a Vernon man in a series of home and vehicle burglaries in Tolland County that netted several thousand dollars worth of valuables.

Troopers say they arrested 30-year-old James Levasseur at his home on Monday after a lengthy investigation. He was detained on bail pending arraignment on numerous burglary and larceny charges Tuesday in Rockville Superior Court.

State police say they recovered an array of items stolen in Ellington, Somers and Stafford during the spree.

It’s not clear if Levasseur has a lawyer.

State Judicial Branch records show he has a criminal record that includes convictions for burglary, violating probation and unlawful restraint. He also has several other pending cases involving charges including burglary and carrying a dangerous weapon.
