Old Saybrook police say they seized seven weapons and ammunition when they searched a home on Attawanahood Trail after a neighbor narrowly missed being hit by a round shot from the home overnight.
Police say 45-year-old John Patrick Kelly of 35 Attawanahood Trail
was arrested for unlawful discharge of a .40 caliber handgun inside a residence after the bullet passed through a solid cabinet and a stainless steel sink, just missing his neighbor at number 37 as she was doing dishes at the sink.
Police say the weapons seized at Kelly’s home today include an assault weapon and loaded magazines for the assault weapon.
Kelly is charged with carrying a firearm while under the influence of intoxicating liquor or drug, unlawful discharge of a firearm, and reckless endangerment in the second degree.
