Salvation Army Holiday Stores Exceed Goal

WTIC Salvation Army Holiday Stores collected more than $202,000 for charitable programs this holiday season,  exceeding this year’s goal of $195,000.

Major Ryan Glasco says they had a slow start,  but a “banner finish,”  including more than $50,000 on the final day. “Times are tough, and people acknowlege that, and many have decided to give anyway,  to give out of their poverty and not their prosperity.  It shows we have a great society, which is really interested in the needs of others, interested in giving people a hand up, not a hand out.”

Major Glasco says the holiday season contributions go to support Salvation Army programs year-round.
