Veterans Parade Today

Hartford hosts the annual Connecticut Veterans Parade today with thousands of participants expected to be on hand as the marchers step off from the Capitol at 12:30.

The 1.7-mile parade goes north from the Capitol to the Soldiers and Sailors Memorial arch,  to Pearl Street,  to Main Street, south past the reviewing stand across from the Wadsworth Atheneum,  to Capitol Avenue.

The grand marshal is World War II veteran Americo “Rico” Pace of West Hartford.  Honorary Grand Marshals are Jimmie Griffin of Waterbury,  Harold Rochette, Sr. of Meriden, Rear Admiral Sandra Stosz of New London and Captain William Warner of Glastonbury.
