Roughly a dozen members of the CREST Regional Dive Team have been searching the Connecticut River in Hartford as part of a homicide investigation.
They are using metal detectors, searching for a gun. Investigators say they have specific and credible information that the gun was tossed into the river after the killing, however it’s anyone’s guess where the gun might be now, considering river currents and flooding.
While the weather may seem idea for a water search, police say conditions under water are less than ideal, with low visibility and fast moving waters.
Police will not say which homicide the operation is connected to– only that it’s not a recent crime and that it occurred in the capital city.
