WASHINGTON, Conn. (AP) – A teacher at a boarding school for students with special needs in western Connecticut has been charged with sexually assaulting a student.
State police spokesman Lt. J. Paul Vance tells The News-Times of Danbury that 27-year-old Brittany Larson was arrested Oct. 13 and charged with second-degree sexual assault.
Authorities say a months-long investigation by state police found that Larson had been carrying on a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old male student at the Devereux Glenholme School in Washington.
The school serves students with Asperger’s syndrome, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and other learning disorders. Devereux assistant executive director Patrick Queenan said officials are taking the situation extremely seriously and are cooperating with police.
No phone number could be found for Larson’s address in New Milford.
