Manchester Man Pleads Guilty To Vermont Child Sex Charges

MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) _ The Vermont Attorney General’s office says a 58-year-old Connecticut man has pleaded guilty to charges stemming from a series of child sexual assaults over a five-year period.

Officials say Philip Grasso, of Manchester, Conn., entered the pleas Monday while jury selection was under way for a trial on related charges in Vermont Superior Court in White River Junction.

Court documents say Grasso sexually assaulted a child under the age of 16 between 1998 and 2003 in Springfield. Other offenses occurred during the same period in Springfield, Peru and Perkinsville.

Sentencing is expected in about six weeks.
