State Police say a Derby woman suffered critical injures Sunday evening when she was ejected from an SUV on Route 8 southbound in Naugatuck.

Police say Glenda Rivera, 35, suffered serious head injuries when she came out of the passenger side of a 1998 Chevrolet Tahoe just south of Exit 25 around 6:45 p.m.

Police say Rivera was taken by ambulance to Waterbury Hospital, where she was listed in critical condition.

The vehicle was being operated by Gerald Nelson, 40, who shares a home with Rivera, said police.

Anyone with information on the incident is urged to call State Police Troop I in Bethany at 203-393-4200.
