Police Probe Rash Of Stolen Storm Drain Grates

State Police are investigating the theft of storm drain grates from several northeastern Connecticut towns.

Police say the grates have gone missing over the past two months or so from Thompson, Woodstock, Putnam, and Union and authorities believe they’re being turned in at scrap metal yards.

Police are urging the public to keep an eye out for any storm drains that are missing grates.

Anyone with information on the thefts is urged to call State Police Troop D at 860-779-4900.
