Huskies, Cyclones To Remember 9-11 Victims

The University of Connecticut plans a 9-11 remembrance ceremony prior to Friday’s game against Iowa State at Rentschler Field.  Fans are encouraged to be in their seats before 7:30 to take part.

A moment of silence will be followed by the Pledge of Allegiance, led by John Lenihan of Avon,  whose twin brother Joe Lenihan died while working in the World Trade Center.  The University of Connecticut Marching Band will lead the crowd in the National Anthem.  There also will be acknowlegement of those

The Huskies will wear special “9-11/CT decals on their helmets in memory of te 157 people with Connecticut ties who died in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.

There will also be a special acknowledgement of those with Iowa ties who lost their lives in the attacks.
