Traffic Stop Leads to Torrington Drug Bust

A Middlebury man is under arrest after Torrington police say they found crack, cocaine and heroin in his car.   Officers stopped 29-year old Charles Wilkerson because he was driving erratically on Winsted Road.

Wilkerson kept driving, but eventually pulled into a parking lot on Main Street, where police say he gave them a Connecticut Identification card with a Hamden address because he does not possess a drivers license.

Hidden in  hollowed out can of “foaming tire protectant” was 25 bags of heroin, 6 bags of crack-cocaine and package of powder cocaine.  Police say the drugs had a street value of $1,500.  Investigators also found over $2,300 in cash.

Wilkerson was already on parole and is currently being held by Torrington PD ahead of his court appearance.
