Malloy Vetoes Two Development Bills

HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) _ Gov. Dannel P. Malloy has vetoed two more bills. That’s a total of five vetoes so far from this year’s legislative session.

The Democratic governor released an updated list of signed and vetoed bills on Monday.

The two most recent vetoes concern a tax credit program to encourage development around Oxford Airport and membership changes to a commission that oversees state development around the state Capitol in Hartford.

Malloy said the airport bill was premature because a new state airport authority has been created to boost the economic potential of the state’s airports. Malloy said the second vetoed bill would have diminished the state’s ability to develop, purchase or use properties near the Capitol.

To date, Malloy has signed 163 bills into law.
