UConn’s Mazzilli Chosen For USA Baseball Collegiate National Team

University of Connecticut infielder LJ Mazzilli has been chosen for the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team.  He’ll be an alternate on the National Team which will play 15 games this summer,  the first on Thursday against the Keene Swamp Bats.

Friday night the team plays Mystic,   at the Fitch High School field

Monday, June 27, the team will play the New England Collegiate Baseball League All Stars at Fenway Park.

Mazzilli, who is from Greenwich,  is a sophomore.  He had 93 at-bats in 36 games this season,  batting .312,  with 29 hits and eight walks.  Last summer he played for the Wareham Gatemen of the Cape Cod Baseball League.
