Q-Poll Sifts Connecticut Baseball Preferences

HAMDEN, Conn. (AP) _ An annual Quinnipiac University poll finds
there are slightly more New York Yankee fans in Connecticut than
fans of the Boston Red Sox.

Forty-three percent of baseball fans surveyed in the poll, which
has an error margin of 2.6 percentage points, support the Yankees.

Thirty-eight percent said they are fans of the Sox.

Another 7 percent said they prefer the New York Mets. The poll
was conducted by telephone between June 8 and June 13.

Poll director Doug Schwartz says support for the teams has
fluctuated since the survey began in 2003. That year, the Yankees
led by 14 points. The Red Sox had a statistically insignificant 1
point lead in 2008, the only year the Yankees did not lead the
poll.
