A federal prosecutor today identified a suspect in a New Haven arson that killed three people.

Hector Natal was arrested this morning on Haven Street in New Haven, on federal drug dealing charges.

While he made his first appearance in federal court in Bridgeport, an assistant U-S Attorney said Natal admitted to taking part in the deadly arson on Wolcott Street March 9.

She said Natal made the admission while being recorded.

He is charged with selling about 36 grams of crack to a person cooperating with investgiators.

So far, Natal has not been charged in the arson deaths.

A woman died, along with her eight-year-old son and her neice.

Natal’s girlfriend and father told the New Haven Register that he is innocent.
