WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (AP) _ Authorities have released the names of two people killed when tornadoes tore through central and western Massachusetts.

West Springfield’s police chief said Angelica Guerrero died Wednesday saving her 15-year-old daughter. He said Guerrero put her daughter in the bathtub and covered the girl with her own body. When the house came down on top of them, Guerrero was crushed. The girl suffered severe leg lacerations. Guererro’s husband was also hurt. Both remained hospitalized Thursday.

Sergey Livchin also died in West Springfield when his van was crushed by a falling tree. Police said the 23-year-old died a short distance from his home and only about 2 blocks from the Guerreros.
Authorities have not released the name of a third victim in Brimfield.
