Governor Malloy is set to join President Barack Obama and others in a wreath-laying ceremony at Ground Zero in New York City to mark the death of Osama bin Laden.
Mister Obama invited Malloy to today’s event, four days after a clandestine team of U.S. Navy SEALs shot the mastermind of the Sept.11, 2001, attacks.
Malloy was mayor of Stamford when the attacks occurred. He recalls seeing stunned commuters at the Stamford rail platform as they returned home.
Malloy says he’ll be representing the more than 150 people with Connecticut ties killed in the attacks in New York, the Pentagon and on the airliners that were used as weapons.
