Three Dead In New Haven Fire
NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP) _ The fire chief says three people have died in an overnight house fire in New Haven.
Chief Michael Grant says eight other occupants of the multifamily home in the city’s Fair Haven section were taken to the hospital with injuries not considered life threatening, including four people who jumped from second-floor windows.
The names of the victims were not released.
The fire was reported just before 2 a.m. on Wednesday.
Grant says a preliminary investigation shows that the fire started in the stairwell on the second floor and spread to the third floor. The victims were all found on the third floor.
