Cold Winds; High Spirits

Connecticut fans shattered The American Hockey League’s attendance record The Connecticut Whale sold some 28,500 tickets for the “Whale Bowl”  at Rentschler Field in East Hartford.  The game was the main event of a series of youth, academic and collegiate hockey games played on the outdoor ice.

Hartford Whalers and Boston Bruins alumni skated to a 4-4 tie in a celebrity game under sunny skies, but with chilly temperatures and cold winds,  before the Whale and Providence Bruins took to the ice for the AHL game.  Providence won in a shootout,  on a shootout goal by Maxime Sauve, 5-4.
