The man sentenced to a maximum of 200 years on his conviction in the murder of three people at a Windsor Locks auto body shop is listed in serious condition at Dempsey Hospital in Farmington after he was attacked in prison.

State Police say 55-year-old Benedetto Cipriani was assaulted by another inmate in his cell at the McDougall-Walker Correctional Facility, They were called in to conduct the criminal investigation into the attack.

Cipriani was convicted in 2009 of masterminding the murder-for-hire which resulted in the deaths of his estranged lover’s husband, his partner and an employee at B&B Automotive in July of 2003. He was extradited from Italy.
