Man Injured in Ellington Hunting Accident

ELLINGTON, Conn. (AP) _ Connecticut State Police say there appears to be no criminal aspect to a hunting accident that left a 61-year-old man injured.
The investigation continued Sunday into the incident in Ellington, where Ronald Iacobucci (eye-ah-co-BOO’-chee) was shot in the lower leg Saturday.
Police say Iacobucci and 45-year-old Patrick Farrell, both of South Windsor, were on land near Sandy Beach Road when the incident occurred. Police say Farrell’s rifle discharged as he stopped to unload it.
Both men had proper hunting credentials.
Iacobucci was treated at Hartford Hospital for injuries that police say are not life-threatening. The state Department of Environmental Protection is assisting in the investigation.
