Pratt Wins Egyptian Air Force Contract

EAST HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) – Aircraft engine maker Pratt & Whitney said Tuesday it was awarded a $46 million contract to provide engines to the Egyptian air force.

The engines will power the air force’s new fleet of 20 F-16 aircraft. Pratt & Whitney plans to begin deliveries of the engines in 2011.
Pratt & Whitney is a unit of Hartford, Conn.-based aerospace company United Technologies Corp.
