Discarded Propane Cannister Causes Explosion at Trash-to-Energy Plant

Authorities were called to an explosion this morning at the Connecticut Resources Recovery Authority’s trash-to-energy plant on Maxim Road in Hartford.  Officials say describe the explosion as a minor one, caused by a discarded propane tank.  The part of the building affected is a section with a roof that’s designed to be blown-off in the event of an explosion.
