$100 Million 3-D Submarine Movie to Shoot in Connecticut

Officials say another movie will be shooting in Connecticut next spring,  attracted by the state’s tax credits for the film industry.  The film, based on the novel “Thunder in the Deep”  will be a 3-D submarine and war thriller.

Producers say the film will have an “A-list” cast,  though negotiations with actors are not complete.  Producers say Connecticut was in close competition with Vancouver.

The Navy is cooperating with the $100 million dollar production, but it will not be shot at the Groton submarine base, because political themes in the movie’s plot make the U.S. State Department uncomfortable.
