Police: 7-Eleven Robbed with Machete

Vernon Police say the 7-Eleven Store on Route 30 was robbed by two men with a machete Saturday morning.

Police say the suspects entered the store shortly after 5 a.m., emptied the cash register and took a large amount of cigarettes before fleeing. The only clerk on duty at the time was shaken but not hurt, said police.

Police were looking for a blue vehicle, possibly a Ford, in connection with the heist.
The first suspect is described as a white male in his early 30s, 5’8″ tall, with brown eyes. He was wearing a black leather jacket with white stripes across the front and the sleeves, a black hooded sweatshirt, and black pants.

The second suspect is described as a white male in his mid 40s to early 50s, 5’8″-5’9″ tall, with brown eyes. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black pants. Both suspects were wearing motorcycle-style face masks.

Anyone with information on the heist is urged to call Vernon Police Officer Dan Champagne at 860-872-9126, ext. 281.
