Millions of dollars in advertising is apparently paying off for Republican U.S. Senate candidate Linda McMahon, who has pulled to within the margin of error of Democrat Richard Blumenthal in the latest Quinnipiac University poll.
The survey 1,083 likely voters shows Attorney General Blumenthal with a 49 to 46 percent lead over McMahon, the former CEO of World Wrestling Entertainment. But that is withing the margin of error of plus or minus three percentage points.
McMahon has steadily eroded a once huge lead: Blumenthal led by more than 30 points in March.
Poll Director Douglas Schwartz says Blumenthal should be concerned about McMahon’s momentum.
