Two New West Nile Virus Cases Reported

Two more Connecticut residents have been diagnosed with West Nile virus infections.  The cases from Bridgeport and Stamford bring to seven the number of cases confirmed in the state this summer —   with the other cases from New Haven, Trumbull and Greenwich.  The other two state residents were infected while out of state.

The Mosquito Management Program says both are between ages 50 and 59,  both became ill last month,  and both are hospitalized with encephalitis and West Nile virus antibodies have been found in both.
