WOBURN, Mass. (AP) _ A Winchester man accused of killing his wife, two children and mother-in-law is headed to court to answer to four counts of first-degree murder.
Thomas Mortimer IV is scheduled to be arraigned in Woburn Superior Court on Thursday.
Mortimer, who grew up in Avon, Conn., has been held without bail since pleading not guilty to the charges in district court.
Authorities say 64-year-old Ellen Stone; her daughter, 41-year Laura Stone Mortimer; 4-year-old Thomas Mortimer V; and 2-year-old Charlotte Mortimer were found beaten and stabbed to death in their Winchester home in June.
Prosecutors say the suspect killed his family after an argument with his wife.
He was arrested in Bernardston the next day.
He lawyer has said he has mental health issues and has suggested he may use an insanity defense.
