State police say a suspect already in custody in one “cold case” murder investigation in eastern Connecticut is now charged in a second murder as well. DNA evidence from the strangling death of 29-year-old Michelle Comeau in Franklin in 1998 led them to 40-year-old Dickie Anderson, formerly of New London.
Comeau’s body was found May 1, 1998, dumped along an access road to the Norwich Industrial Park near Dodd Stadium
Anderson has been in custody three months, since he was arrested in the 1997 murder of another woman, 41-year-old Renee Pellegrino. Her body was found on Waterford Parkway South, near the site of the old Waterford Airport. She also had been strangled.
State police declined to say whether Anderson, who was identified in both murders through DNA, is considered a suspect in any other outstanding cases.
