The 12th annual Connecticut Women’s Expo is taking over the Hartford Convention Center on September 6 and 7, 2014. This is the largest Women’s Expo in the United States with over 450 exhibits and it is expected to exceed last year’s attendance of 22,000. There will be services and products for women that includes beauty, fashion, education, free health screenings, samples as well as a grand prize give-away of a one-of-a-kind custom-designed evening gown. There will be free mini makeovers to all attendees of the fashion shows.

The 5th annual Connecticut Women’s Expo is taking over the Stamford Plaza Hotel on April 26 and 27, 2014. The admission price is $10 and children 12 and under are free. Indoor parking is also free. This event attracts thousands of women that want to shop for the latest products and services in fashion, beauty, health, nutrition, fitness, financial planning, careers, home, education and much more. Call Stamford Hospital (203) 276-5990 before the event to sign up for free screenings. Guests will receive complimentary hair touch-ups and there are many great give-away prizes to win. Guest appearances will also be made by “Dancing with the Stars” hunks Val and Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Tono Dovolani.

Planning for a wedding? The Bridal Expo will be held on April 6, 2014 and the price of admission is $8. There will be more than 100 displays to help you choose a wedding consultant, flowers, stationery, food samplings from bakeries and caterers. This event can help you with DJs, vacation packages, photographers and videographers. Get a look at the latest bridal fashions for the bride, groom and wedding party. Have your questions answered and get ideas all under one roof.

This will be the ninth annual show and sale, being held April 5 and 6, 2014. If you are looking for vintage clothing and furs, textile, jewelry and fashion accessories, this event is for you. Antique textiles such as fabric, quilts, lace, linens and victorian whites will be for sale. There will also be period clothing from the early 1800s. Find vintage costume jewelry, antique and estate jewelry, mid-century modern sterling jewelry and Victorian and Art Deco jewelry. Early admission is from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. on April 5 and is $15. The entrance fee is $7 after 10 a.m. on April 5 and free for children under 13.

Connecticut Kids Closet is a consignment event for clothes from “tummy to teen.” Sunday is discount day. Items marked “Discount” are 50-percent off. You will find children’s clothes, toys, books and gear. Moms will find maternity clothes, nursery furniture and baby equipment. The fashions are brand items from Ralph Lauren, GAP, Mini Boden, Land’s End, Hanna Andersson and more. It is free to the public.
