Connecticut is like an antique patchwork quilt. The towns, villages, parks, forests, lakes, shoreline, vineyards and wineries are the colorful mosaic that makes it whole. This diversity and versatility allows for countless picturesque and scenic venues. Be it proms, dates, engagements, weddings, births, festivals or holidays, there is a beautiful background for all photographs.

Gillette Castle
67 River Road
East Haddam, CT 06423
(860) 526-2336

Gillette Castle is a 100-year-old castle perched atop a hill on the bank of the Connecticut River. It is instantly recognizable by its asymmetrical gothic pile of seemingly haphazardly placed local rocks. It was once the home of William Gillette, an actor who is best known for portraying Sherlock Holmes. The Castle is extraordinary looking both inside and out and has a lot of history attached to it. The interior is fashioned out of hand-carved wood throughout, with very little metal visible to the eye. Between the main room with its fireplace, the balcony on the second floor that resembles a theater gallery, the extensive grounds outside and the Connecticut River running past, there is no end to exciting and memorable photo ops here.
