The Polo Club

678 Maple Ave.
Hartford, CT 06114
(860) 278-3333

The Polo club mixes it up and offers a little something for everyone, with weekly specials to entice patrons to party the night away. The bar welcomes those ages 18 and older, with an “18 to party, 21 to drink” policy. On “Thrifty Thursdays,” there is no cover for the 21-and-older crowd, and drinks are cheap. Friday is Latin night, and there are amateur drag contests every month. There are also occasional special parties and comedy nights.

Chez Est

458 Wethersfield Ave.
Hartford, CT 06114

Chez Est is the place to go Monday, Tuesday and … well, the rest of the week, too. This gay and lesbian dance club is open seven days a week and offers a friendly atmosphere. There’s an outdoor patio for the summer (or for smokers), and a full bar. A DJ spins tunes on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, but patrons say that it’s Friday night that you won’t want to miss at this club. Go see if they’re right!

Dunkin’s Manhole

Albany Ave.
Hartford, CT 06120

Patrons say that it’s the welcoming atmosphere here that puts them at ease and makes them feel comfortable at this gay bar. It could also be their intriguing theme nights including “Shorty Shorts Sundays,” “Hot Tub Tuesdays” and “Roller Disco Night.” These nights mix it up a little bit to make things more interesting, and you’ll be comfortable because you’re having fun. And when you have fun, it’s easier to meet people, which, of course, is the goal!
