About the Hosts:
Joseph J. Vrabely, Jr. President – Atlantic Steel & Processing
Joe has been in the manufacturing business for his entire working career. Joe had a very successful 19 year career with Ryerson Steel with jobs that took him from Chicago to Seattle to Westchester, Pa. Joe started Atlantic Steel & Processing in 1999 and has grown his company to it’s current level of 20 employees.
Joe has been a Board Member of the Connecticut Small Business Advisory Council-DECD, The Connecticut State Board of Education, the Chair of The Connecticut Technical High Schools, as well as many other boards. Joe was awarded The Harold Webster Smith “Manufacture of the Year which is presented from the Waterbury Chamber of Commerce.
George A. LaCapra Jr. President – UniMetal Surface Finishing
George has been in the manufacturing field for the past 17 years. George started working at Quality Rolling and Deburring in Thomaston and held various positions fro Line Supervisor, Purchasing, Estimate/Quoting, Vice-President and President. George led the firm with its merger and helped create UniMetal Surface Finishing in 2011 becoming the first President.
George has held various board positions at Naugatuck Valley Community College including the Co-Chair of The Manufacturing Advisory Committee at NVCC. George is also a recipient of The Harold Webster Smith 2003 “Manufacture of the Year award.
Richard Strobel Sales Engineer – Marjan Inc
Richard has been in the family manufacturing business since he was 14 years old. The company specializes in Metal processing of coiled metal, by metal coating and metal slitting processes. Richard has two International Patents involved in a metal coating alloy utilized for the Automotive Industry, Solar Industry, Electronic and Telecommunications Industries.
Marjan currently has two business locations located in Waterbury, CT and Chicago, IL.
