(Hartford, Conn./CBS Connecticut) – Snow began to fall early this morning across Connecticut.
Some areas could wind up with a half a foot of snow by the time all the precipitation ends, likely in the form of rain.
Those at the Connecticut Department of Transportation say they had 634 state trucks and over 150 contractors helping keep the roads passable.
DOT Storm Monitor John Haggerty says drivers need to exercise caution by keeping speeds down, allowing enough distance between their car and the one in front, and make sure headlights and wipers are in use.
Officials also ask the drivers clear the snow from their vehicles before heading out, as it is a state law.
