(Hartford, Conn./CBS Connecticut) – A man is in stable condition after Hartford Police say he was shot when answering the door to his home on Harold Street.
Officers say the 43-year-old victim heard a knock on his apartment door and when he opened the door, the unknown assailant opened fire.
The victim sustained non life-threatening wounds to the chest and thigh; he was alert and speaking to investigators.
During their initial investigation, police officers did locate a damaged magazine, five live rounds of 9-millimeter ammunition and a hat at the bottom of the porch stairs.
The department’s Major Crimes Division is heading the investigation.
