STORRS, Conn. (CBS Connecticut) — Roughly 3,800 of UConn’s incoming freshman will be moving in to the Storrs campus Friday.
“The Towers Complex on Route 195 is going to be all freshman this year. The Buckley-Shippee Complex is a lot of freshman plus our Honors programs, and then there are freshman in dorms all throughout the campus, so you’ll see those cars and those families really entering at all points,” said UConn spokesperson Stephanie Reitz.
More than 70 percent of freshman class are from Connecticut with the rest of the students coming from 44 different states, Puerto Rico, and 22 different countries. This year’s freshman class at UConn has already been recognized as the most diverse in the school’s history.
Reitz added that Upperclassmen will move in Saturday and Sunday, in all nearly 13,000 undergrad students converging on Storrs over the next three days.
