UNCASVILLE, Conn. (AP) _ Alyssa Thomas scored on a tip-in with 0.6 seconds left and the Connecticut Sun beat the Seattle Storm 77-76 on Friday night to snap a six-game losing streak.
The Sun (2-7) trailed by one with 8.8 seconds left, inbounding from half court. Camille Little drove into the lane and her 10-foot jumper missed the rim completely to the left, but Thomas tipped it in off the glass. It was the Sun’s first lead since early in the second quarter.
Breanna Stewart missed a contested attempt for the Storm (3-6) at the buzzer.
Thomas finished with 15 points and nine rebounds, and Morgan Tuck scored 20 points.
Sue Bird led Seattle with 24 points. Langhorne added 14, and Stewart had 10 points and 12 rebounds.
It was a reunion for recent UConn teammates, Tuck and Stewart, with head coach Geno Auriemma in attendance. The Sun, ranked last in the AP WNBA power poll, took Tuck third overall in the April draft. The No. 9 Storm took Stewart first overall.
