(STORRS,Conn./CBS Connecticut )  – UConn center Amida Brimah is expected to be out  for  from 6  to 8 weeks after suffering a fracture  of the third finger on his right hand   during practice on Monday.Brimah will undergo surgery to repair the finger.

The junior missed a game for the first time in his career Sunday with a groin injury,breaking a streak  of  84 consecutive games played.

Brimah is averaging 7.8 points  and  5.2 rebounds per game.His 3 blocked shots  per game ranks  ninth in the country.
