(HARTFORD,Conn./CBS Connecticut)   Hartford Police made  17 arrests  after  demonstrators locked hands   and stood in a crosswalk   blocking   both eastbound and westbound traffic on Central Row  downtown  during the afternoon rush.Protestors taking part in  what was called “Moral Monday” held signs that read “Black Lives Matter”,to call attention to the fatal shootings of African – Americans by police  across the country.

The arrests were made when demonstrators refused to disperse.Each was charged with Disorderly Conduct  and their bonds   set at $5,000.

All are due in court June 17.
