(CBS Connecticut) –– The lawyer for the mother of teenage cancer patient known as “Cassandra C.” says the judge in the case has denied her mother’s motion seeking to take custody of the teenager back from the state.
The Department of Children and Families took temporary custody after Cassandra refused her chemotherapy treatments for Hodgkin lymphoma.
The Windsor Locks teen has been living at Connecticut Children’s Medical Center while she undergoes treatment, and had been asking to complete her treatments while living at home.
Attorney Michael Taylor says the court also denied Jackie Fortin’s motion to visit her daughter. He says they are considering their options.
