CROMWELL, Conn. (AP) _ Connecticut Lt. Gov. Nancy Wyman will be helping to kick off this week’s Travelers Championship golf tournament.

Wyman will take part in the opening ceremony on Monday morning at the TPC River Highlands course in Cromwell. The tournament begins Thursday, but there are many events scheduled throughout the week.

The Aetna Tournament Players Pro-Am is set for Monday afternoon, and a family day at the golf course will be held Tuesday.

The Travelers Celebrity Pro-Am is slated for Wednesday and is expected to include actors George Lopez, Donnie Wahlberg and James Naughton, as well as UConn men’s basketball coach Kevin Ollie and former coach Jim Calhoun.

Many of the world’s top players are set to compete in this year’s tournament including Bubba Watson, Matt Kuchar, Jason Day and Sergio Garcia.
