HARTFORD (CBS Connecticut) — New Britain Police have identified the officer seriously injured when he was run over and dragged by a  stolen car Sunday night.  The car was later located and police obtained a warrant for the suspected driver. (See earlier story)

Police say the injured officer is 28-year-old  Brett Morgan, who has been with the New Britain force nearly a year,  after transferring from Northampton, Mass.   He underwent nine hours of surgery Monday.  Police say he is in stable condition.
