Later today, Connecticut state police will be honoring some of their own along with civilians who have gone above and beyond the call of duty.

There’s an awards ceremony taking place at the Connecticut State Police Training Academy in Meriden.

Among the awards to be given will be those for bravery, lifesaving, meritorious service, outstanding service and medal of honor.

The Commissioner’s Recognition Award will be received by civilians.

State public safety Commissioner Reuben Bradford and state police commander Colonel Danny Stebbins will preside.

In addtion, Governor Dannel Malloy and Lieutenant Governor Nancy Wyman are expected to attend and address the recipients.

The ceremony begins at one p.m.
