The WNBA Connecticut Sun is firing the only coach the team has ever had.  General Manager Chris Sienko says the search already is underway for a replacement for Mike Thibault.  Along with Thibault,  Assistant coaches Bernadette Mattox and Scott Hawk have been released.

In his ten seasons with the Sun,  Thibault led the teah to eight playoff  appearances and  a 206 and 134 regular season record,  but the team has never won the WNBA title.

Sienko said it was a difficult decision, but the team felt it was time for “a new voice and a new direction for our players and our fans.”   He said the team will begin formerly interviewing candidates immediately.
