PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) _ Rhode Island’s big blue bug is getting a makeover.

The giant iconic termite that sits atop New England Pest Control just off Interstate-95 south of downtown Providence will sport a new look starting Monday as the 77-year-old company rebrands itself.

The company says the two sons of second-generation owner Stephan Goldman are poised to lead the family business, and they wanted to do something new. The company will now do business as Big Blue Bug Solutions.

The bug, known as Nibbles Woodaway, is on the list of quirky tourist attractions compiled by “Roadside America” and had a cameo appearance in the movie “Dumb and Dumber.” It gets a red nose and antlers at Christmastime and has sported a baseball hat in honor of the Pawtucket Red Sox.
