UConn Men’s Basketball Coach Jim Calhoun will miss his third consecutive game Saturday, as he continues to battle spinal stenosis, a painful lower back condition, the school announced Wednesday. The Huskies play at Syracuse Saturday.

The university says Calhoun is scheduled to meet with specialists over the next few days to determine the best course of treatment after he was physically unable to coach games last Saturday against Seton Hall and last Monday at Louisville.

“I’m feeling better, but as of now, I wouldn’t be able to coach,” Calhoun said. “I’m trying to get the best assessment in order to find the best solution.”

Coverage of the Huskies and the Orange begins at 12:30 p.m. Saturday on WTIC News/Talk 1080.

A Fantastic Human Being. He has brought a lot of Joy to our lives. I hope this issue gets resolved so he can ultimately live a comfortable life in retirement. Thanks again for your leadership.
