On Wednesday Nov. 9, at approximately 6 p.m., the Torrington Police Detective Bureau along with the TPD Special Response Team (SRT) served a search and seizure warrant for the residence of the second floor rear home at 349 South Main St. Upon arrival, police arrested Rachel Ashak, 39 of 47 Whiting Ave., Torrington, and Jason Arnold, 25 who lived in that home being searched, both on drug charges.
Police located over 620 separate bags of heroin, 5.74 grams of marijuana, 1.95 grams of crack cocaine and 2.98 grams of loose, unpackaged heroin in a separate bag. Street value of the heroin is approximately $10 per bag.
Ashak was charged with possession of heroin with intent to sell and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bond was set at $100,000.
Arnold was charged with possession of freebase cocaine with intent to sell, possession of freebase cocaine, possession of heroin with intent to sell, possession of heroin, possession of narcotics within 1500 feet of a public housing project, possession of marijuana and sale of heroin. His bond was set at $250,000.
They’ll be in Bantam court today if bond is not made.
