If you are going on a vacation and want to take your pet with you, it’s time to look for a hotel in Connecticut that will let you bring Fido, Felix, Cleo or even Micky. Find where to stay and the pet amenities that come along with reserving a room.

The Newbury Inn borders Brookfield/New Milford at the beginning edge of the Litchfield Hills. It is located on a park-like setting, and if you enjoy antiquing or fishing, it is convenient to the area. A complimentary continental breakfast is served everyday. Wireless internet is available free of charge and there is a pet fee per day for your pet to stay with you. A $100 refundable deposit that is required for the stay (to receive back after inspection). Your cat as well as your dog are welcome.

Harbour Inne is a five-minute walk from the train station. This inn is a bed and breakfast, with daily breakfast being served from 7 to 10 a.m. daily. All sizes of all pets are welcome (dogs, cats, ferrets, birds, etc.). The Harbour Inne has selected pet-friendly rooms in smoking and non-smoking areas and there are areas set aside for walking your pet. A pet fee of $50 is due at the time of check in. Each pet must weigh less than 25 pounds. While here, visit Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun Casinos or step out the front door for an easy walk to downtown Mystic.

The Scranton Inn (bed and breakfast) is a part of history on the Connecticut shoreline. Pastry Chef and Innkeeper Michael Hafford prepares a full breakfast for you daily. The Scranton Inn charges a fee for your pet, but all sizes of dogs and cats are welcome. Dogs and owners have a private entrance and there are complimentary home-made biscuits awaiting your pet. Towels for muddy paws are provided, as well as a clean water bowl each day.

The Inn at Iron Masters has a “dogs only” policy: they must be at least one year old and fully trained. Dogs are welcome free of charge so long as the inn is notified when making your reservation. There are dog biscuits upon check-in. Dogs must be leashed at all times and are not allowed to be left in the rooms unattended. You can have no more than two per room. The inn has been around for 55 years and just finished its latest renovations.

Cedar Park Inn is a boutique hotel built in 2002. It is located in a lovely country setting, just minutes from the Foxwoods Resort and Casino and Mohegan Sun. Pets are only permitted in rooms without carpeting and there is a small fee involved. The area around the Inn is perfect for walking your pet. Additionally, a short 15-minute drive gets you to the beautiful Connecticut beaches. In the courtyard there are fire pits and barbecue grills available for the guests.
