Heroes and Hitters carries mostly Marvel and DC (the heavy hitters of the comic book world), with both current and back issues ready to fly off the shelves. Heroes and Hitters takes special orders, as well, so if you’re looking for that hard-to-find item they can try to help you track it down. The store is open seven days a week, with frequent special events.
A Hero’s Legacy

Rising from the ashes of the legendary Buried Under Comics, A Hero’s Legacy is one of the newest staples among the Connecticut comic book scene. Occupying the same storefront as Buried Under, the shop features an assortment of back issues, graphic novels and collectibles just as impressive as ever, as well as a healthy amount of the comics coming in each Wednesday.

Eye Opener is a small store in downtown Newington, that’s packed to the gills with comics, trade paperbacks and toys and statues. It’s a delightfully old school comic shop, with regulars showing up each Wednesday for the latest releases. While it’s a little bit cluttered and disorganized, Eye Opener is loaded with some very cool buried treasures at amazing prices, if you’re willing to do a little bit of digging.
