Considering Connecticut is home to one of the top party schools in the country (UConn), as well as to institutions like Central, Southern, Eastern, and Saint Joseph’s, bars around the state love to entice students with special college nights. Whether you’re a current student or an alum lucky enough to still look like the photo on your school ID, there are plenty of establishments willing to give you reasons to party.

At Huskies, every night is college night. Named after the University of Connecticut’s mascot, Huskies is a UConn favorite. They offer nightly drink specials, such as $3 pitchers and $1 drafts on Mondays, bottles for half a buck on Tuesdays, and $3 mixed drinks on Saturdays. The bar also offers food, TVs to catch all the games, pool and dancing. Just off the UConn main campus, it is no wonder that Huskies is the place to go for college kids in Storrs.

Having been named “Best College Bar” more than once, Elmer’s Place is the perfect spot for students of Central Connecticut State University. Elmer’s serves up student specials in both food and drink, featuring deals such as baskets of wings and fries for only $4 and 2-4-1 drafts. Students can also unleash their musical talents with karaoke or test their brain power with trivia night.

While there is no designated “college night,” Murphy’s has specials every night of the week. The weekends offer the best deals of all, with $2.50 Coors Lights on Fridays and $2.50 Miller Lights on Saturdays. Delicious bar food is also available, as well as live bands, billiards, and a double dose of trivia each and every week. Enjoying a $3 Blue Moon draft during Monday night trivia is a hard deal to beat. In close proximity to West Hartford Center, Murphy’s is a hot spot for students of Saint Joseph’s and the surrounding area.

Thursdays are College Night at The Sports Bar, and very popular among students of both Eastern Connecticut State University as well as nearby UConn Storrs. The College Night is 21+ and features the musical styling of DJ Smooth. Other specials include 35 cent wings on Mondays, karaoke and $2 Bud Light bottles on Wednesdays, and half priced appetizers from 4–7 p.m. on Fridays, among others. If the name didn’t give it away, The Sports Bar also offers students a fun atmosphere to catch all your favorite NCAA and pro games.

New Haven is full of college students from Southern Connecticut State University, Yale, and University of New Haven. No matter which fight song these city kids sing, they all have the Playwright in common. The Playwright Irish Pub is always packed with college students. Friday nights are perfect for ladies – drink specials are offered all night long. And wherever the ladies are, the guys aren’t too far behind. Trivia is offered on Wednesday nights as well.
